Obituary for Phyllis A. Jenkins (Marzano)

STILLWATER - Phyllis A. Jenkins, 74, died peacefully with her loving family by her side, on June 13, 2022 after a brief illness. Born in Troy on June 21, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Philomena DiNardo Marzano.
Phyllis graduated from Mechanicville High School in 1965 and then from Albany Medical Center Radiology Program in 1967. Her long career as an X-Ray Technician began in 1967 until retiring in 2005. Since retirement, Phyllis most recently worked for George Metcalfe, Jr, LCSW-R doing medical billing.

After retirement, Phyllis and husband John wintered in Bradenton, Florida for many years, residing in the community Hawaiian Village. She enjoyed reading, the beach, bingo, Saturday coffee, gambling, and creating chaos with her sister. If you knew Phyllis you knew how much she loved cooking. She was famous for her meatballs, eggplant parm, and Italian cookies. She loved to have her family over for the traditional Sunday dinners.

Most of all, Phyllis was a smart, strong, selfless, and loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She was happiest when providing for and giving to everyone else. She was a devoted caregiver to her husband upon the onset of his illness.
Phyllis was recently predeceased by her husband of 53 years, John R. Jenkins Sr. As well as her brothers in law, Michael Carney and Thomas Jenkins.

Survivors include her son John R. Jenkins Jr, daughter Justine Jenkins Cooper, both of Stillwater, and grandchildren Brooke and Brady Cooper who were the loves of her life. Also her sister Anita Carney, brother Vincent Marzano Jr, sister in law Frances Jenkins, nieces Erica (Tom) Hickey, Renee Carney and great niece Sidney Jenkins.

Calling hours Thursday from 4-7 PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home,39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118. A Funeral Mass at All Saints on the Hudson(St. Paul’s) Church,121 S Main St, Mechanicville will be Friday at 11AM with burial to follow in Saratoga National Cemetery.
