Obituary for Donna T. Mastrianni (Pratt)

SCHENECTADY - Donna Theresa Pratt Mastrianni, 89, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on May 26, 2022; after a long illness.

Donna was born in Cohoes, NY on April 19,1933. She was the daughter of the late George Walter and Evelyn Cropsey Pratt. Donna loved life, especially as a wife, mother and “Nan” to many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Donna enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, and golfing at the Barney Road Golf Course in Clifton Park, NY. She attended and participated in numerous activities of Clifton Park women’s groups and St. Edwards Church. She also enjoyed her times with her wonderful friends Ceil and Maurice Ryan and Bubby and Marion Beaudoin.

Donna loved to entertain and opened her home for numerous gatherings and celebrations. Her home was the setting for so many memorable Christmas parties, picnics, birthdays and special events. Donna cherished Sunday dinners where her entire family would gather. Those who entered Donna’s home were treated with kindness, respect, and love.

Donna and “Tweet” loved to travel, and share stories of their trips of Gloucester, Maine, and the “Big E,” with her children and grandchildren. She relished the time spent in Cape Cod with her family, and made sure that her famous pasta sauce and homemade chicken salad were always included.

Donna’s greatest attributes were her kindness and compassion for everyone she met. She took care of so many friends and family members over the years and she never expected anything in return. Everyone who met Donna could attest to her warmth and compassion, and that will be truly missed by all..

In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Francis “Tweet” Mastrianni, her oldest son, Francis Mastrianni Jr, and sisters Joan Winkowski and Marlene Edmonds.

Survivors include her children Benedict (Megan) Mastrianni of Albany, George (Lynn) Mastrianni of Gansevoort, Joanne (Steven) LaFay of Glens Falls, Christopher (Serene) Mastrianni of Lenox, MA, and daughter-in-law Linda Mastrianni of Niskayuna. Grandchildren: Brian (Ashley) Mastrianni, Christopher (Erin) Mastrianni, Jessica (Marc) Bernstein, Alexander (Samantha) Mastrianni, Elizabeth Mastrianni (Ari Renoni), Erik (Nina) Mastrianni, Ryan Mastrianni, Gregory (Dilyana) Mastrianni, Tressie LaFay (Andrew Parsons), and Michelena Mastrianni.
Great Grandchildren: Evelyn, Pia, Carson, Cooper, Mila, Santino, Owen, Griffin, Francesca, Xavier, Lorenzo and Murphy, as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Joan Mastrianni-Doyle.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 31st from 9:00 - 11:00 am at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main Street, Mechanicville, NY. Funeral Mass at
All Saints on the Hudson Church(St. Paul’s), 121 No. Main Street, Mechanicville, NY, 12118. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery. A reception at Fairways of Halfmoon located at 17 Johnson Road, Mechanicville, NY 12118, will follow.
