Obituary for Donald Christiansen
MELROSE - Donald Christiansen, 85, of Ford Rd, died peacefully in the comfort of his son’s home on May 11, 2022, after a brief illness. Born in Troy on January 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Clarence and Helen Smyth Christiansen.
Don worked as a carpenter for the Local 78 Carpenters Union for many years before retiring. He served in the US Navy from 1954 thru 1957. An at home Bee Keeper, at one time Don had 100 hives at his home. Don was also a full time minister for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elaine Blanchard Christiansen, whom he married August 3, 1956, his sons Dale(Maria) of Pleasantdale, Wayne(Ellen) of Grafton, Eric(Dale Ann) of Malta, and Dean(Laurie) Christiansen of Troy, 12 grand and 13 great grandchildren, as well as his sister Jean Christiansen of CT and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family and there will be no calling hours.
