Obituary for Daniel Marcella

STILLWATER - Daniel Marcella, 97, of Hudson Ave, died peacefully at Saratoga Hospital after a brief illness on May 4, 2022, after a brief illness. Born on July 14th, 1924 in the town of Stillwater, he was the son of the late George and Mary Simiele Marcella.
Danny served in the Pacific Theater during WWII at Kwajalein Atoll, Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima. After the war Danny was an MP stationed in Hawaii.
After the war he worked at the paper mill (Westvaco). He left the paper mill and started working for Shenendehowa School District. He retired from the school district in 1993.
Danny had a great love for cars, motorcycles, boats and campers. He loved life and always lived it to the fullest.
He was happily married to the love of his life, Teresa Limburg Marcella for 54 years before her passing in December of 2000. Danny was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Mary, Henry, Angeline, John, Alice, Josephine, and Vincent.
Danny leaves behind his sister Tessie who has recently turned 100. Also his sons Robert and Thomas (Michele), grandchildren Lisa and Rachel (Dusty), great grandchildren Tia, Marcus, Manny (Amanda), Miguel (Kiley), Emily, and Aubrey, great-great grandchildren Paige and Apollo and several nieces and nephews.
Danny will certainly be missed by all who knew him. The world has lost a great man, one of the best.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, 12118. A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday at 1030AM with military honors and burial to follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.
