Obituary for John E. O'Rourke Jr.
STILLWATER - John E. O'Rourke, Jr, 70, of Hudson Avenue, died peacefully on March 1, 2022, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy on December 29, 1951, he was the son of the late John E. and Mary Moulton O'Rourke Sr.
John worked for several years as an inventory manager for Garden Way, Inc, Troy, NY. Later in life, John became a buyer/seller of goods on EBAY and other craft shows. He enjoyed flea markets and yard sales and for some time, created stained glass that he would sell at craft/trade shows.
John loved the Saratoga Race Course and was a frequent visitor before becoming ill 12 years ago. His nearly 3 time a week visit to the track slowly dwindled until he was no longer able to go. He was also an avid Scuba Diver who enjoyed the depths of the Caribbean Sea and also more locally, dives at Lake George.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Kimberly Marinello O'Rourke, whom he married October 9, 1999, his sons Jack(Danielle) O'Rourke and Brennan O'Rourke, step children Brady(Kelli) Patenaude, Brittany Patenaude and Brogan(Ashley) Patenaude, grandchildren Declan and Avery O'Rourke, Hadynne, Elliott, Emersyn and Evyn Patenaude , his faithful canine friend "Rosie Dog"and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by his siblings Lynne and Sean O'Rourke.
Calling hours on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 12 - 3PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118 with a funeral home service to follow starting at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12208 in memory of John O'Rourke Jr.
