Obituary for Philomena Sabatino (DeFelice)
STILLWATER - Philomena DeFelice Sabatino, 91, of Colonial Rd, died peacefully in the comfort of her home on February 11, 2022, just five months after the passing of her husband of 70 years, Philip Sabatino. Born on August 9, 1930, daughter of the late John and Frances Skronsky DeFelice, she was a Mechanicville High School graduate.
Phil worked as a seamstress at the Korell Dress Co for over 25 years until the dress shop closed. She also enjoyed women's softball in her youth. She and her husband were longtime members of the Mechanicville Stillwater Elks Lodge. She was also an avid golfer and member of the Mechanicville Golf Club, playing well into her 80's. At home, she enjoyed gardening and beautifying her home.
In addition to her husband Phil, she was predeceased by her siblings Theresa Sabatino, Jennie McGillivray, Joseph "DeBabs" DeFelice and John "Babe" DeFelice.
Survivors include her two sons: Philip and wife Kate Sabatino, Jr of Ballston Spa and Mark and wife Danielle Sabatino of Stillwater, grandchildren: Carol Ann (Rick) Bozzo, Rebecca Marie (Stephen) Cook and Mark Sabatino, Jr, along with great grandchildren Lili, Sarah, Joe and Matthew, her brother Stephen DeFelice(Sharon White), and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday Feb. 15th from 10AM -12PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. A burial service will follow at 1PM at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Saratoga National Cemetery Honor Guard(SNCHGA) 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, 12871.
Phil's family wishes to thank the Community Hospice staff including Karen, Anna, and Rosie, her brother Steve for his weekly visits over the last several months, and especially her niece and nephew Lisa and Tex, for their caring assistance, patience and concern.
