Obituary for Lewis H. "Hap" Wormuth III

MECHANICVILLE - Lewis H. Wormuth III, 64, died peacefully in the comfort of his home on February 7, 2022, after a recent illness and longtime battle with diabetes. Born in Binghamton on November 8, 1957, he was the son of the late Romona Paige Kishbaugh and the late Lewis Wormuth Jr. He was also the stepson Sandra Wormuth, who once married to Lewis Jr, became a great mother figure to Lew, his siblings and all the grandchildren. He always appreciated how she cared for him.
A 1976 graduate of Shenendehowa High School, affectionately known as "Hap", he was a supervisor for over 20 years at the NYS Senate Print Production Facility in Albany. He also owned and operated a gun shop, "The Firing Pin" in Halfmoon for several years.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of 4-H Shooting Sports as well as a former teacher of hunting safety education. He was also a member of the Old Saratoga Muzzleloading Club and the Sportsman's Club of Clifton Park and an accomplished woodworker who was well known for his Christmas time reindeer. Above all else though, Lew was a devoted Christian who believed in the Lord's plan for him and he loved and adored his three grandsons.
Survivors include his daughters Stacy Mitchell of Halfmoon, Megan(Joseph) Sicko of Waterford and Ashley(Alfred) Corchia of Malta, grandsons Alfred Jr, Alexander, and Abram Corchia, siblings Lester (Chris) Wormuth, Lori Zipkin, Larry (Lynette) Wormuth, John Morrison, Lisa (Harold) Clothier, Rick Wormuth, his daughters' mother Sharon(Bob) Pavone, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours on Saturday, Feb 12th from 11AM-2PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118. A funeral service will follow at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc, P.O. Box 7023
