Obituary for Dennis J. McCauliffe Jr.
MECHANICVILLE - Dennis J. McCauliffe, Jr., 71 yrs, a longtime resident of North Seventh Ave, died Thursday, January 6th at home, in the loving company of his family.
Born in Troy, son of the late Dennis and Catherine (Waters) McCauliffe, Sr. Dennis was a truck loader for 32 years with Loudon Plastics in Latham, retiring in 2014. Previously he worked the restocking night crew at Price Chopper in Mechanicville.
Dennis was a sportsman, who loved hunting , trapping and was well known in the area for his fishing tournament accomplishments. He was also a great conversationalist, a heck of a card player and member of the Mechanicville Athletic Club. He was a man who loved his wife and was proud of his two children and three grand daughters.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Denise (Callahan) McCauliffe, whom he married Aug 26, 1972, his daughter Michele McCauliffe Ward and son Dennis McCauliffe, grandchildren Julia, Natalie and Megan Ward, many in-laws, nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Donna and her husband Ronald Sinsabaugh.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 7 PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home. 39 So. Main St, Mechanicville. Calling hours at the Funeral Home will be prior to the services from 4 to 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Saratoga County Animal Center or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in memory of Dennis J. McCauliffe, Jr.
