Obituary for Joan M. Connors (DeMarco)

TUPPER LAKE - We regret to announce the passing of Joan M. Connors, 58, of Tupper Lake on November 13, 2021. Joan passed away peacefully at her home after an unexpected illness.

A native of Mechanicville, born September 25, 1963, daughter of the late Anthony "Woody" DeMarco Jr. and the late Mabel Clous DeMarco, and wife of James H. Connors. Joan graduated from Mechanicville High School in 1981, and later earned an Associate Degree in Business Data Processing from SUNY Cobleskill. She married Jim on July 21, 1984, after three unforgettable years of courtship. Joan retired from the New York State Office of Disabilities Determination Division.

Joan was known for her smile, sense of humor, loyalty and carefree can-do attitude. She was a forever optimist. She was not afraid to tackle any home project and she prided herself on owning her own set of tools. In 2004, Joan fulfilled her dream of owning a camp on Mayfield Lake where she shared so many wonderful days with her family and friends. She even found enough time to build a deck in between cooking for the family and planning their next adventures. Joan's children were her life, and she never missed the opportunity to please them.

Survivors include her husband Jim; children, Paul(Suchada) Connors, Shannon (Roger) Lind; two grandchildren, Donavan and Brooke Connors; brothers Anthony “Joe” (Wendy), Michael and David (Michelle) DeMarco; sisters Christina and Karen DeMarco; Uncle John Clous; along with several cherished nieces, nephews, in-laws, and loyal friends. She is predeceased by her brother, John DeMarco.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 17, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Paul's Church in Mechanicville. Burial at Saratoga National Cemetery to immediately follow. Remembrances may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
