Obituary for James F. "Pop" Senecal Sr.

STILLWATER - James F. Senecal, Sr. died peacefully at Glens Falls Hospital on November 4, 2021, after a brief illness. Born in Mechanicville on May 28th, 1945, son of the late James and Anna Mae Quick Senecal, he attended Mechanicville Public Schools.
"Pop", as he was affectionately known by many, joined the US Army shortly after high school and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1965. He worked as a truck driver and HVAC technician for Camfield Oil Company for many years. He later worked on the production line at Bobrick Washroom Equipment in Clifton Park until his retirement in 2007. He was a longtime member of the American Legion, Post 490, Stillwater. A jokester by nature, he was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping trips with his family and friends.
Jim was predeceased by his first wife, Yvonne Crammond Senecal in 1999, his daughter Jennifer Mott, step son Richard Rose and sisters Barbara Remmers, Eleanor Elkins and Sarah Senecal.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Linda Rose Senecal, son James (Jill) Senecal Jr, daughters Jacqualine (James) Fortier and Joy M. Senecal. Grandchildren Frank (Chelsea) Adamec, Jeremiah (Alexa) Senecal, Patrick Mott, and Jameson and Eve Senecal, great grandson Kai Senecal, Linda's children Brenda (Jude) Mastropietro, Gerald Rose, Jr and Kimberly (Chris) Little, his sister Claudia Willett and Emma "Herkie" Noyes, along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville, NY 12118 on Thursday from 4-7 PM followed by a Funeral Home Service beginning at 7PM. Inurnment with military honors will be held on Friday at 11AM at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive at the cemetery at 10:45AM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Rd, Ballston Spa, NY 12020, in loving memory of James F. Senecal Sr.
