Obituary for Michael A. DelPrete

MECHANICVILLE - Michael A. DelPrete, 67, longtime resident of Round Lake Ave., died Wednesday, Oct. 20th, at his comforting residence, Alternative In Mankind (AIM), Rowland St, Ballston Spa, after an extended illness. Born in Troy, Feb 28, 1954, he was son of the late Angelo and Antoinette DeChiro DelPrete. Disabled from birth, Michael was well cared for by his parents and sisters for most of his life.
For years, Michael enjoyed the work day program at Saratoga Bridges. He had a fun attitude, enjoying many different things, including horseback riding, bowling, music, sitting in a favorite rocking chair among others. He loved the ocean, and was able to sit along the shores of Myrtle Beach, So. Carolina, not that long ago.
Michael enjoyed his lunch outings with his sisters. He also enjoyed spending the holidays with his sister Shirley and her family.
Survivors include his two sisters: Maria and Gerardo Cioffi of Castleton and Shirley and John Prylo of Clifton Park, nieces and nephews: Gerardo (Kathy) Cioffi III of Nassau, Marc (Stephanie) Cioffi of Virginia, Kristine Prylo of Clifton Park and John (Caelynn) Prylo, Jr. of Ballston Spa, great nieces and nephews, cousins and his community friends.
Michael's sisters thank Melissa and the AIM Rowland Street staff and clients, and Saratoga Hospital Drs, Nurses and staff for the wonderful care, compassion and concern shown to their brother over the years.
A Funeral Home service will be held on Monday at 1 PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St, Mechanicville, with burial to follow in St. Paul's Cemetery, being laid to rest between his Mom and Dad. There will be calling hours from 11 AM till the 1 PM service. ## Michael's family requests mask wearing to be mandatory, regardless of past vaccinations. ##
