MECHANICIVLLE - Mary Jo Fitzgerald, 58, died Wednesday September 1, 2021 at Advent Health in Orlando, Florida. Mary Jo was born in Troy, NY daughter of Rita Anne Writer Thompson and the late Joseph Guilianelli, 1981 graduate of Mechanicville High School, lived in Mechanicville until moving to Titusville in the early 1990’s. Mary Jo was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army where she served in Honduras. She was an active member and volunteer of the DAV. Mary Jo worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles in Titusville. She loved playing poker, was an avid sports fan, especially the Dallas Cowboys, boating and driving her Ridgeline, along with weekly Texas hold-em cards games with family and friends.
Mary Jo is survived by her husband Jon Fitzgerald, her daughters Samantha Barnett and Tabitha Sisler, her son James Sisler, Jr. and his wife Nicole, her grandchildren Mackenzi Barnett, PFC Cage Barnett, USMC, Jessica Williams, Logan Sheppard, Savannah Sisler, Julianna Sisler, and Jameson Sisler, her mother Rita Anne Writer Thompson, her mother-in-law Barbara Bell, siblings David Guilianelli and his wife MJ of Austin, TX, Dionne Welch and her husband Matthew of Mechanicville, NY, Tanya Thompson of Gloversville, NY Jamie Thompson of Mechanicville, NY, Joe Guilianelli and his wife Tabatha of South Carolina, Mary Ann Guilianelli of Ticonderoga, NY, Michael Guilianelli of Waterford, NY, Vicky Harris and her husband Jim of Waterford, NY, and Michelle Guilianelli of Corinth, NY, and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass to celebrated Marry Jo’s life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23rd at 10 Am at All Saints on the Hudson Church (St. Peter's) 895 Hudson Ave, Stillwater, NY with burial to follow alongside her father in St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville.
