Obituary for Frank J. Zink

STILLWATER - Francis J Zink, 75, of Russell Dr, died peacefully on October 13, 2021 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Troy on October 6, 1946, son of the late John and Justine Francese Zink, he was a 1964 graduate of Averill Park High School. Shortly after high school, Frank joined the US Air Force and honorably served his country during the Vietnam War, having been stationed at the Bien Hoa Air Base.
Upon returning home, Frank found his knack while working as a sales manager at Singer Sewing Machines in Syracuse and also Toy House. A leader by nature, Frank worked in sales and as a general sales manager for Izzo Chrysler Plymouth in Mechanicville for many years. Lovingly known as the salesman who never missed anyone’s birthday and always sent a card to all of his customers. He received several National Top Salesman awards throughout his career. Most recently, he worked for Boat N RV Warehouse in Coxsackie until his retirement.
Frank was a member of the Sullivan Jones VFW in Poestenskill, American Legion, Post 1644 Riverside and a member of the Stillwater Rod and Gun Club. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed playing darts and going the Saratoga Race Track with his friends. Frank was known to be a hardworking man who supported his family and later in his retirement was able to enjoy the company of his grandchildren, particularly his grandson Finley, who lived with him.
Frank was predeceased by his sons Joseph and Francis Zink, daughter Ellen Zink and siblings Madonna, John, and Robert Zink.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Noreen Murphy Zink, whom he married February 4, 1987, children Ninamarie Zink-Tripodi, Justine(Nicholas) Culora, and Jimel(Chelsea) Williams, grandchildren Robert and Olivia Tripodi, Finley, Lucy and Atreus Culora, and Aubrey, Mariah and Elijah Williams, siblings Thomas(Nora) Zink, Tina(Tim) Haskins and Marianne(Patrick) Thornton as well as several nieces, nephews and their families.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St.. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 11AM at All Saints on the Hudson North Church (St. Peter’s), 895 Hudson Ave , Stillwater , NY 12170. Private burial in St. Peter's Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Remembrances may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place Memphis 38105 in loving memory of Frank Zink.
