Obituary for Robert T. Tedesco

STILLWATER - Robert T. Tedesco, 86, of Ferry Ln, died peacefully at Stratton VA Medical Center, on October 6, 2021, after a brief illness. Born in Brooklyn on July 22, 1935, he was the son of the late Anthony and Adele Musante Tedesco and husband of the late Annette Tedesco, who died in 2019.
At the age of 23, Bob joined the US Army and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1960.
He worked as a taxi driver in NYC until moving to the Capital Region, and then worked as a school bus driver. He then began his career with American Linen, where he worked for over 20 years as a truck driver.
Bob was a horse racing enthusiast, who along with his family, enjoyed summers at the Saratoga Race Track. He and wife Annette, were also frequent visitors to the casino. Poker, chess and horseshoes were also games he enjoyed. In his youth while living in Brooklyn, he became fond of crabbing along the shores of Sheepshead Bay and the Toms River.
Sadly in addition to his wife Annette and parents, Bob was predeceased by his son Anthony "Tony" Tedesco in late 2020.
Survivors include his son John(Sheristin) Tedesco of Stillwater, grandchildren Michael(Carly) Tedesco, Anthony(Morgan Mehan) Tedesco and John Tedesco Jr, great grandchildren Ava, Luke and Nolan, and Raegan and Ryan, siblings Joan(Don) Goodrich, Linda(John) Hampshire, and John(Tammie) Tedesco as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life honoring Bob, Annette and Tony will be held this Saturday, October 9th at Johns home, 27 Ferry Lane, starting at NOON. A prayer service will begin at 1PM with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers and to further honor his son Tony's love of music, donations may be made payable to Stillwater Central School with "Tony Music Award" noted in the memo section, 1068 Hudson Ave, Stillwater, NY 12170.
