Obituary for Susan E. Farnan (Gorski)

STILLWATER – Susan E. Farnan, 72, of County Route 76, died peacefully at Saratoga Hospital on September 15, 2021, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy on June 25, 1949, daughter of the late Anthony and Eleanor Gorski, she was a 1967 graduate of Stillwater High School.
In her early youth, Sue worked as a waitress for the former Holiday Inn. She then began a long career, with Super Liquor and New Super Liquor in Clifton Park, where she worked for 25 years until retiring in 2005.
A good hearted and kind person, Susan devoted a big portion of her life to helping others, donating to charitable causes, especially St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and other missions. She frequented and enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the Stillwater Free Library. A lover of books, she belonged to the Northshire Bookstore book club. She was a longtime member of the CP YMCA and enjoyed Broadway shows, the yearly Jazz Festival and traveling with her husband Jim. She loved hummingbirds, flowers, and more than anything, the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 55 years, James G. Farnan, whom she married on September 19, 1966, her devoted children James(Deborah) Farnan of Stillwater, Matthew(Jennifer) Farnan of Mechanicville, and Ryann(James) Morrell of Saratoga Springs, grandchildren Dylan and Justin Farnan and Shelby Leonard, Caroline Farnan, and JimmyJames Jr, Ella Nora, and Axel Gunner Morrell, as well as her sister Marie(Tom) Guttridge, many nieces, nephews and friends she made as a member of the Clifton Park Elks.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 3rd from 1-4PM, with words of remembrance starting at 2PM, at the Clifton Park Elks Lodge, 695 Mac Elroy Rd, Ballston Lake, NY 12019. For those wishing to remember Susan in a special way, memorial contributions may be made to the Stillwater Free Library or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in loving memory of Susan E. Farnan.
