Obituary for Joan M. Doin (Richardson)
CLIFTON PARK - Joan Marie Doin, 78, of Bishop Hubbard Housing and former resident of Mechanicville, died unexpectedly at Albany Medical Center after being stricken at her home, on September 8, 2021, in the loving company of her family. Born in Troy on May 24, 1943, daughter of the late Leo and Laura Richardson, she was a Mechanicville High School graduate.
Joan enjoyed knitting, watching movies, reading, bingo, and playing poker with friends. She also loved the company of her pet bird, Fruitloop, a sun conure. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family.
Sadly, Joan was predeceased by her grandson Nicholas Vinehout.
Survivors include her children; Robert(Christina) Missenis of Ballston Spa, Richard(Bridgette) Missenis of Albany, Deborah Missenis of Stillwater, Laurie(Vincenzo "Jim") Gulli and Russell(Kristin) Missenis, both of Clifton Park, grandchildren Michael(Jennifer), Cameron and Jordan Missenis, Jessica(Christopher) Austin, Carter Gulli(Angelina Purcell) and Cody Gulli, and Logan and Gabrielle Joan Missenis as well as her great granddaughter Brianna Austin.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Joan will be laid to rest in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery, Stillwater. Those wishing to remember Joan in a special way are asked to make memorial contributions to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 West 44th Street, Suite 609, New York, NY 10036 in loving memory of Joan M. Doin.
