Obituary for Stephen M. Iavarone

MECHANICVILLE - Stephen Michael Iavarone, 57, currently of Saratoga Springs but a longtime resident of Mechanicville, died peacefully at Saratoga Hospital on July 25, 2021 after a short illness. Born in Saratoga Springs on January 17, 1964, son of the late Nicholas and Domenica "Mae" Iavarone, Sr, he attended the Mechanicville Public Schools and its BOCES program.
Stevie was well known throughout Mechanicville. Daily, he could be seen riding his bike throughout the neighborhoods, always with a friendly smile. He was also a staple of the Park Avenue Stewarts Shop, where he would enjoy his morning coffee, sitting at the booth, conversing with those he knew and always ready to say hello to those in passing.
Stevie had worked at various jobs throughout the local area. He often participated in local nonprofit organizations and community volunteer programs and was also part of Special Olympics. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys & Red Sox fan. He enjoyed traveling with his family, especially his yearly trips to visit his mom and dad in Florida and then with Tina on various excursions.
Steve is survived by his loving siblings: Patricia (James) Maynard of Ballston Lake, Nancy (James) Macy of Latham, Theresa Pratico of Mechanicville, Linda (Stephen) Amadon of Rensselaer, Tina Iavarone of Mechanicville and Salvatore (Doris) Iavarone of Halfmoon and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, also predeceased by his brother and sister in law Nicholas and Susan Iavarone, as well as his brother-in-law Phil Pratico.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 1PM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 North Main St., Mechanicville. Burial alongside his parents in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
