Obituary for Mary Susan Curtis (Viger)

MECHANICVILLE - Mary Susan Curtis, 80, of Pawling Avenue, died Tuesday, June 8th at Samaritan Hospital after being stricken in her home earlier that morning. Born on January 20, 1941, daughter of the late Walter and Thelma Viger, she was a graduate of Mechanicville High School.

A clerk with the NYS DMV, Mary was very active in her community. She was a member of All Saints on the Hudson Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Red Hat Ladies, the Mechanicville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Legion Post 91 Ladies Auxiliary, where she had served as a past Chaplain.

A huge NY Yankees fan, she also enjoyed trips to the casino, playing cards, and trips to the family camp at Sacandaga Lake, where countless memories were made with family and friends.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Robert Curtis in 2008 and tragically her son Eric Curtis in 2001 along with her sisters Imogene Viger and Inez McCloud.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Holly and Gary Lemrow of Mechanicville, 6 grandchildren: Jestia, Jaimie, Joshua(Daniela), Katelyn and Eric Curtis and Bobby Lemrow(Emily Stevens), along with three great grandchildren Annika, Nicholas, and Bella, as well as daughters-in-law Sheila Curtis and Erika Jones.

Calling Hours will be held on Monday, June 14 from 10am - Noon at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at All Saints on the Hudson Church(St Paul's), 121 N Main St, Mechanicville at 12:30PM with interment to follow in Hudson View Cemetery.
