MECHANICVILLE - Donna M. Daley, 78, of Kennedy Gardens', died Monday, May 31st at Samaritan Hospital, Troy, after a brief illness. Born in Troy, June 22, 1942, daughter of the late Charles and Cecelia Gaylord, Donna attended Hoosic Valley Central School.
While raising her three children, Donna worked for numerous years in the credit/collections dept of Seton Health/St. Peter's Health Partners where she developed many long term friendships
Donna enjoyed trips to the Racino, playing her daily numbers and scratch-offs, caring for her wildlife friends and her online games and puzzles.
She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, James M. Daley in 2007 and sister Barbara Czuwala.
Survivors include children: Donna Marie (Paul Hickok) Daley, James and Lori Daley all of Mechanicville and Tammy (Martin Howarth) Carlo of Halfmoon. Grandchildren: Jennifer (Jason Smith) Clapper, Ryan Hickok, James E. Daley, Shawn Carlo, Michael (Julia MacNaughton) Carlo and Joshua (Samantha) Carlo. Great grandchildren: Bryce and Collin Smith. Also siblings: Kenneth (Betty) Gaylord of Melrose, Janet (the late Richard) Osborn of Schaghticoke and Carol (the late George) Davenport of Mechanicville, along with several nieces, nephews and families and in-laws.
A inurnment service will be held on Tuesday, at Saratoga National Cemetery, scheduled for Noon.
Those wishing to attend please arrive at visitors center by 11:45 AM.
A special heartfelt thank you Paul Hickok for always being her extra chauffer, repair man, source of entertainment and a special son-in-law. Also, Liz Palmer for her help over the years with doctor's appointments and friendship. We would also like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Samaritan Hospital ICU and Lori Daley for their care during her recent illness.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Foundation.
