Obituary for Mary Beth King Garfinkel (King)

HALFMOON - Mary Beth King Garfinkel, 69, of Upper Newtown Road, died Thursday, May 20th a Samaritan Hospital, after an extended illness.
Born in Albany, May 14, 1952, daughter of the late William and Edith Spoor King, she was a graduate of the former Vincentian Institute of Albany.
Mary Beth was a customer service representative for several personal line insurance agencies for years.
A former member of the Singles Ski Club of the Capital District, where she met her future husband, she gingerly learned to ski, though it was never her favorite. That belonged to the sport of Golf, where she was an avid golfer, a member of the Mechanicville Golf Club for years, who unfortunately lost the chance to play over the past number of years, due to health concerns. She was also a ferocious reader.
Survivors include her husband of almost 33 years, Dr. David Garfinkel, siblings Karen (Bill) Barrett of Slingerlands, Ellen (the late Charles) Sellnow of Glenmont and William King of Berne. Also nieces and nephews Magan MaGee, Erin Sellnow, Mark, Anne, and Sara Barrett, Jasen and Jessica King and their families.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 25th from 5PM to 7 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville .
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of one's choice in fond memory of Mary Beth King Garfinkel.
