Obituary for Frank R. Ronda

STILLWATER - Frank R. Ronda, of Hudson Ave, died Sunday, May 9th at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Mechanicville, son of the late Salvadore and Liberty Villamil Ronda, Frank was a graduate of Mechanicville High School and attended Siena College.
For 25 years, Frank was a technician for AT&T in Albany, retiring in 1988. He had previously worked for General Electric Silicone Products, Waterford.
An active member of his community, Frank served the Town of Stillwater as Deputy Town Clerk in the mid-70’s. Frank was a former Chairman and Committeeman for the Stillwater Democratic Party. He also worked as a behind the scenes production assistant for the former Stillwater Players Among Others. For many years, Frank was also a former Trustee for St. Peter's Catholic Church. Frank was an avid fisherman. He fished most of the streams, lakes and rivers of New York State & Vermont. He also loved to go deep sea fishing as well. After his retirement, Frank took to golf in a big way! He enjoyed playing with his sons, sons-in-laws, grandsons and brother in law, Bob, along with his many friends.
Survivors include his loving wife Joan McClements Ronda, his proud children: Richard (Rochelle) Ronda of Albany, Robert Ronda of Johnsonville, Rebecca (Bob) Palmieri of Stillwater, David (Denise) Ronda of Mechanicville, Patricia (Tim) Sheehan of Stillwater, Scott (Melanie) Ronda, Esq. of Melrose and Frank (Doreen) Ronda of Stillwater. Grandchildren: Brian (Shannon) Ronda, Zerlena, Melissa and Andriane Ronda, Matthew (Jess) Esq. and Daniel Palmieri, Ethan Ronda, Nicholas Travis, Isabella, Zachary, Zoe, Ivy, Harmony, Emonie and Asher Ronda, and great grandchildren Shamus and Ciara Meroney and Carter and Sienna Palmieri, his brother Richard (Arlene) Ronda of Mechanicville, several nieces and nephews, along with many in-laws.
In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his infant son Thomas and his brother and wife, Edward and Sheila Ronda.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, (St. Peters) 895 Hudson Ave Stillwater, with burial to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St, Mechanicville on Thursday from 6-8 PM. Pandemic guidelines such as mask wearing and social distancing will be followed.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Memphis Tenn. in fond memory of Frank R. Ronda.
