MECHANICVILLE - Raymond M. Price, Sr, 82, died Saturday, May 1st, after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Stillwater/Mechanicville, born April 28th, 1939, he was the son of the late Francis and Helen Morchinski Price.
Ray joined the US Air Force directly out of Stillwater High School and served his country honorably from 1956 - 58. Upon returning home, he started his career with Tagson Paper Company(Cascade) in Mechanicville where he worked for over 35 years until his retirement.
Ray was an active outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. An all around "Bar Room" athlete, he also played darts, euchre, pool and loved his trips to the horse racing track and casino. At home he enjoyed watching the NY Yankees.
Ray was a longtime member of the American Legion, Post 91 and the Saratoga Eagles Club # 2586.
Ray loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom worked tirelessly over the past 15 years to ensure he had the best possible care after his life altering stroke.
Ray was predeceased by his wife Marie Price as well as his brothers James and Donald Price Sr.
Survivors include his five children: Ray(Dr. Petra Enzien) Price, Jr and Tammy Hatalsky of Mechanicville, Jessica Price(Chris Bigec) of Clifton Park, Lorraine(Dana) Jordan of Schaghticoke, Richard “Rick”(Katie) McBride of Saratoga Springs/FL, grandchildren: Sarina Jordan, Amber (Chris) Plue, Christopher Hatalsky, Ricky(Morgan) McBride, Nathan Hatalsky, Devin Price, Ryan Robbins and Adrianna Price, along with great grand kids Hailie, Payton and Maizie and Kaysen. Also survived by his sister Patricia Catanese and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Calling hours at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118 on Wednesday from 4-7PM . A Mass of Christian Burial is tentatively scheduled for Thursday at 10AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 North Main St., Mechanicville. Due to Saratoga National Cemetery scheduling issues, please look for changes to the funeral mass schedule in Wednesday edition.
