Obituary for Elvira Bagnoli

MECHANICVILLE - Elvira Andreine Bagnoli, 103, formerly of Canal St, died Tuesday, March 2nd at Van Rensselaer Manor, after an extended illness.
Born in Schenectady, Nov 11, 1917, daughter of the late Louis and Letizia Andreine, Elvira was the widow of Sisto Bagnoli, who died March 3, 1990.
Elvira was the City of Mechanicville Police Dept. matron for over 25 years, and was the watchful crossing guard on William St., protecting students of the former St. Paul's Parochrial School for many years. She had also worked at the Saratoga State Park bath house for years.
Elvira was a longtime member of the Women's Democratic Club of Mechanicville, the Plum Brook F & G auxiliary, a former member of the local Catholic Daughters of America, a communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church and its Rosary Altar Society. She also bowled, played bocce ball and bingo. Elvira was a longtime kitchen leader at the church bingo program.
Survivors include her daughter Connie (Dick) Spass of Albany, son Ronald (Cindy Novak) Bagnoli of Halfmoon, four grandsons: James (Tina) and Lee (Karla) Yattaw, Daniel and Justin Bagnoli, great grandchildren: Jimmy, Jacqualine, Michael, Vincent, Aylse Juliet-Elvira, Caleb and Kaden, sister-in-law Constance Morcone, nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents and husband, predeceased by sisters Mary Vars and Caroline Zeppetelli and brothers Peter, Joseph, Albert, Paul and Ray Andreine.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, being held at NOON on Friday, March 5th at All Saints on the Hudson Church (St. Paul's) 121 No. Main St, with burial to follow at St. Paul's Cemetery.
Elvira's family extends their thanks and gratitude to the staff of Van Rensselaer Manor, for their care, compassion and concern of their beloved Mother.
Remembrances may be made to All Saints on the Hudson Church or Community Hospice, in loving memory of Elvira Andreine Bagnoli.
