STILLWATER - Jane L. Hawthorne Simmons, 82, of Barbolt Ct, died peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Eddy Village Green at Cohoes, following a brief illness. Born in Troy on July 24, 1938, daughter of the late Albert and Dorothy Kilmer Barbolt, she was a 1955 graduate of Stillwater High School.
Jane worked for more than 25 years at Tagson's Paper Co. Jane cherished the time she spent with her grand and great grandchildren. They truly became her whole life once she retired. Sadly, Jane was predeceased by her husbands, James C. Simmons in 1990 and Robert Hawthorne in 2011, her grandson W. Eric Simmons in 2017 and her brothers Albert and Leo Barbolt.
Survivors include her son Wayne and his wife Terry Simmons of Stillwater, daughter Wendy and her husband John Treacy of Hemstreet Park, grandchildren James (Christine) Simmons, Meggan(Christopher) Cotterell, Courtney(Renner) Ruffalo, Shannon(Kenny) Day, Kevin (Jessica) Simmons, Tyler Treacy, and Eric's wife, Tara Kearbey Simmons, nine great grandchildren: Jace, Adelynn, Harper, Levi, Logan, Matthew, Riley, Sadie and Mackenzie, her sisters Marie Baker and Beverly (William) Patenaude as well as several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held with burial in St. Peter's Cemetery alongside her husband James and grandson Eric.
