MECHANICVILLE - Josephine M. McCloud, 88, a Viall Ave Hill resident for most of her life, died Saturday Feb. 13th at the home of her daughter in the Town of Charlton, after an extended illness.
Born Sept 16, 1932, she was daughter of the late John and Mary Rinaldi Carriero, and a graduate of Mechanicville. Josie did postal route delivery for the US Postal Service, Clifton Park branch for over 30 yrs, before retirement. Previously she had worked at the Schenectady Army Depot.
Active in her community, Josie was a former Lassie League softball coach, bowled in the Tuesday nite WIBC league, played bocchi ball at the Italian Fraternal Hall, and was an avid New York Yankee fan.
She loved her weekly card/poker gatherings with family and friends, maybe some slots at the Racino, and cherished time spent with her grandchildren, siblings and families.
Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Douglas McCloud, Sr in 2005, her 7 yr old daughter Colleen, a sister Philomena Bolognino and brother Peter Carriero.
Survivors include her daughter Kathleen (Mark) Raylinsky of Charlton, grandchildren Mikayla and Garrett Danaher and great grandson Preston Sipperly, son Douglas McCloud, Jr. of Salem, granddaughter Catheryn (Jeremy) Salvagni and great grandchildren Jayden and Isabella. Also sisters Kay (Tony) Belmonte, Sue Carriero and Nancy Miller, along with nieces, nephews and their families.
Private services are being held at the convenience of the family, with burial in St. Paul's Cemetery.
