MECHANICVILLE - Mary "Helen" Hofmann, 88, of Mid-Rise Apts, died Friday evening January 8th, at Van Rensselaer Manor, following an extended illness.
Born in Coxsackie, August 24, 1932, she was daughter of the late William and Frances Cooper Hofmann.
Helen was a patient advocate for St. Peter's Hospital for 15 years, before retirement.
She loved to read, enjoyed and appreciated fine wine and food, and loved spending time on an ocean shore, wanting to be a "beach comber".
She was a communicant of All Saints on the Hudson Church, Mechanicville.
Survivors include life companion for the last 38 years, Barbara Critcher of Mechanicville, a brother William (Gabriel) Hofmann of Florida, niece and nephew Barbara and William, along with several grand nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
There are no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 No. Main St, on Thursday at 11 AM. Spring burial in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, mask wear and social distancing will be observed.
