Obituary

PERTH - Bruce W. Doten, 50, of County Highway 107, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday January 5, 2021. Born in Saratoga Springs on May 28, 1970, son of Joan Vinehout Doten and the late Everett Doten Sr, he was a 1988 graduate of Ballston Spa High School.
Bruce work for over 20 years for Quad Graphics as a stitcher operator. He had also worked for 8 years as a store associate for Home Depot. After a recent hip injury, Bruce also started Uber driving in his area.
A huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Bruce enjoyed a variety of sports, including NASCAR and was also an avid fisherman, enjoying many fishing trips on his boat. He also, like is father before him, enjoyed friendly wagering on the horse races. He loved his family and friends and was always willing to go the extra distance to help someone in need. As Bruce would say, he "was a giant, but not a scary one, and was a big teddy bear with a big heart."
More than anything, he loved his daughter and always tried to be there for her through the ups and downs of life.
In addition to his mother Joan, he is survived by his daughter Katrina Jay-Lynn Doten of Perth, sons Matthew and Ryan Campbell, his brother Everett Doten Jr, nephew Andrew and niece Madison Doten and many coworkers and friends.
He was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Knickerbocker.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 10 from 1-4PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. A private service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in memory of Bruce W. Doten to NAMI, PO Box 49104, Baltimore, MD 21297 to support National Mental Health Awareness.
