Obituary

STILLWATER - Thomas F. Snay, Sr, 72, of Blizzard Rd, died peacefully in the comfort of his home on Sat, December 26th, with his loving family at this side. Born in Troy on April 13, 1948, son of the late Francis and Dolores Lesson Snay, he was a 1966 graduate of Mechanicville High School.
Shortly after high school, Tom joined the US Army and served proudly for 2 years until his honorable discharge in 1970.
He worked in the turbine Department for General Electric, Schenectady for many years and had also briefly worked for West Virginia Pulp and Paper Co.
Tom loved riding his motorcycle and was a member of the American Legion Riders Post 1644, Mechanicville. An avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating, he also enjoyed camping trips with his family. At home, he could often times be found on his tractor tending to his yard.
Survivors include his wife Darlene DeMers Snay, son Thomas Snay Jr of Troy, daughter Pamela(Brad) Hagen of Stillwater, grandchildren Braxton, Constance, Thomas III, Makayla and Katie, great grandchildren Leon and Bellona and siblings David(Tanya) Snay, Joseph(Nancy) Snay and Doreen(Jim) Gilgallon as well as several nieces and nephews.
Tom's family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Community Hospice for the care compassion and concern shown to Tom and them during these difficult times.

Full Military Honors and burial will be held on December 30, 2020 at 11AM at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871. There will be no calling hours.
