Obituary for David J. Rogers

MECHANICVILLE - David J. Rogers, 85, of Hemstreet Park, died Friday, October 2, 2020 at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness. Born at the family home in Hemstreet Park on January 22, 1935, son of the late Charles "Fred" and Edith Rogers, he was a graduate of Mechanicville High School and later joined the Navy Reserves.
Dave worked for the West Virginia Pulp and Paper until it closed in 1971and went onto work for General Electric in Schenectady and then Waterford, where he retired in 1997 after over 25 years. A milk bottle and coin collector, he also enjoyed playing golf in his younger years. Most of all, Dave enjoyed being with his family, and cherished the time he spent with his granddaughters.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Beverly Rajeski Rogers, whom he married on May 4, 1963, his daughter and son in law Debra and Marc DeBates, granddaughters Rachel(Alex) Alund and Kathy Daley and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Bob Rogers and Ruth Izzo.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
