He spent the next 25 years working as a draftsman and engineering specialist with GE’s Knolls Atomic Power Lab (KAPL) division in Niskayuna, retiring in 1999.
A 43-year volunteer firefighter and Life Member with Hillcrest Fire Department, Mike spent 11 years as Fire Commissioner, 4 of those as Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners. He cherished his many friendships and enjoyed socializing over morning coffee with his extended Hillcrest family.

He was a leader and mentor in every regard, and cherished every opportunity to impart his wisdom and expertise, especially when it came to his sons-in-law whom he loved as his own sons.
Previously deceased by his parents, his sister Agnes Izzo, and his brother-in-law Frank Izzo, Mike is survived by his wife of 60 years Patricia Greenwood DiNallo, his three daughters - Theresa (Tim) Higgins, Donna (Jack) Izzo, and Regina (David) Thompson, along with his cherished grandchildren - Maggie, Kelsey, and Eamonn Higgins; Jack and Brandon Izzo; and Grace, Matthew, and Kate Thompson. He also leaves behind his brother and best friend Anthony (Linda) DiNallo, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
