Obituary for Norman E. Rose, Jr

MECHANICVILLE - Norman E. Rose, Jr., 60, former longtime resident of Mechanicville, died suddenly Thursday, Jan 3rd, at his residence in Anchorage, Alaska.
Born in Troy, Jan 26, 1958, son of the late Norman and Joyce Stalter Rose, Sr, Norm attended Mechanicville Public School.
Before moving to Alaska some 20 years ago, Norm had worked for Kodiak Steel of Waterford and Salvadore’s Tree Service.
In Alaska, Norm worked in the commercial fishing industry, for years aboard fishing vessels and later in the processing plants. He loved Alaska and its people.
Survivors include his children: Norman III, Edward, April and Robert, a number of grandchildren, siblings: Brian and Scott Rose, Crystal Mone, Dan and Tom Thompson, along with nieces and nephews. Also Uncle Ray (Dorothy) Stalter and Aunt Raema (Jim) Mitchell both of Mechanicville.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb 2nd at 3 PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So.. Main St., Mechanicville.
Calling hour will precede service from 2-3 PM.
Remembrances may be made to a charity of one’s choice in fond memory of Norman E. Rose, Jr.
