Obituary for Edward T. Coté Jr.

MECHANICVILLE – Edward T. Coté, Jr of Dewey Ave, died peacefully on January 23rd following a very long battle with multiple illnesses with his “M&M girls” by his side. Born in Cohoes, on March 13, 1953, he was the son of the late Edward and Adelaide Coté. Ed graduated from Cohoes High School, continued his schooling at HVCC and then received his Master’s degree from SUNY Albany.
Ed worked as a self-employed business owner and salesman until the onset of his first illness in his early 20s. He was a former Elks Lodge member in Troy. He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing golf and watching sports, especially the NY Yankees and Giants. He will be remembered for his spot-on Donald Duck voice by his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife Clara McBride Coté, whom he married June 5, 1988, daughter Meaghan Amann and her husband John of Mechanicville, and beloved granddaughter Noelle Amann. He is also survived by his siblings Linda Kent, Carol (Hank) Guilbeault, Cheryl (Andy) Currie, Susan Carney, and Robert Coté (Mary Turner), sister in law Melissa Coté, close friend Lance Stanczak, the McBride in-laws, and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Ed was predeceased by his brother Michael Coté, his father- and mother-in-law, John and Teresa McBride, and sisters-in-law Judy and Cathy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 N Main St, Mechanicville with burial to follow in St. Paul's Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Sunday from 2-6PM
