Obituary for Janet F. Schultz (Dodd)
STILLWATER - Janet (Dodd) Smith Schultz, 92, of Hudson Ave, passed away January 13th at Wesley Health Care Center with her loving family at her side. Born in Quaker Springs on July 17, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Percival Dodd and Harriet Dodd Bentley and step daughter of the late Edson Bentley.
Janet was the wife of the late Clifford Schultz, sister of the late Beulah Hodgson, Hazel Flatley and Elberta LaBarge Totten and was also predeceased by her first husband William R. Smith.
She was a graduate of Mechanicville High School, worked for GE for 7 years and spent most of her working career as a bookkeeper for Ehrlich Auto Parts, Troy before retiring after 29 years with them.
Janet was a former elder for 3 years at the Stillwater United Church and her true love was for her family, bingo and traveling.
Survivors include her son, Dale (Maureen) Smith; a daughter Janis (Jeff) Everts, both of Stillwater, grandchildren, Melissa (Rob) and Amy(Rory), great grandsons Andrew, Jacob and Dylan and her brother Percy(Jane) Dodd of Malta.
A Burial Service at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville will be held on Thursday at NOON. Those wishing to attend are asked to be at the visitor’s center at 11:45AM. There will be no public calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, Janet’s family has asked that contributions be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 in memory of Janet F. Schultz.
