Obituary for Bernadette A. Whiting (Benamati)

STILLWATER - Bernadette A. Whiting, 71, of County Route 75, died Sunday, January 6th at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 12, 1947, daughter of Louis and Frances DeVito Benamati of Mechanicville, she was a 1965 graduate of Mechanicville High School.
Bernadette was a homemaker most of her life and was proud of how her home was kept, cherishing the time she was able to have with her son and later on grandchildren as well as her nephews and nieces. When Bernadette couldn’t be with family and friends, she loved chatting with them on the phone, always keeping up with the latest news.
Survivors in addition to her father Lou and mother Fran include her devoted and loving husband of 46 years, James B. Whiting, whom she married on May 21, 1972, her son Josh(Rustyn) Whiting of Huntersville, NC, grandchildren Austin and Tyler, siblings James(Bea) and Dean(Joanne) Benamati, Benamati nieces and nephews Heather Lord, Jason, Alexis, Santino and Cianna Benamati, several other nieces and nephews and countless cherished friends.
Calling hours will be held at All Saints on the Hudson(St. Paul’s) Church, 121 N Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118 on Wednesday from 4 - 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM at the Church, with burial to follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in loving memory of Bernadette A. Whiting.
