MECHANICVILLE - Shawn M. Brehm, 53, died peacefully on Wednesday, Dec 26th at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn following a year long battle with Lymphoma. Born in Albany on October 4, 1965, he was the son of Daniel Brehm of Mechanicville and the late Helen Bouck Brehm.
Shawn was a 1983 graduate of Mechanicville High School, received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at HVCC and had lived in Long Island for over 15 years where he worked as an office administrator for Pinnacle Entertainment before moving back to the area a few years ago. Most recently he worked for Momentive Performance Materials in Waterford as a chemical operator.
Shawn was a self proclaimed homebody who always had the latest and greatest technology. He enjoyed music, movies, was an avid concert goer and other live events. He was also a NY Giants and Boston Red Sox fan.
Survivors in addition to his father Dan include his daughter Jennifer Brehm of Levittown, L.I., sisters Laura(Don) Rougia of Mechanicville and Pamela(Mark) Bisaillon of Stillwater, nephews Curran and Joshua Rougia and a niece Emma Bisaillon. He was predeceased by Jennifer’s mother Janet Burke.
Friends are invited to a Memorial Mass at All Saints on the Hudson(St. Paul’s) Church, 121 N Main St, Mechanicville on Saturday, December 29th at 9 AM. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. Box 5028 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5028 to honor the support given to Shawn through his journey to defeat lymphoma.
