Obituary for Garrett C. Jahoda

MECHANICVILLE - Garrett Christopher Jahoda, 29, of Broadway and former longtime resident of Scotia, died Thursday evening, Dec. 20th in the comfort of his home, with family by his side, after valiantly fighting cancer for the past 8 months.
Born in Niskayuna, June 16, 1989 he is son of John and Beth Remington Jahoda of Port Richey, Florida. Garrett was a 2006 graduate of Burnt Hill-Ballston Lake High School.
A self employed auto detailing expert, Garrett could bring back new car luster to most vehicles he worked on.
A recognized “engine head”, Garrett could fix just about anything and loved working on vehicles for his family and friends.
A person who did what he wanted to do, Garrett lived life to the fullest, knew how to have a good time, and he definitely “steered his own ship”. He was also a caring dog lover.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his sister Jennifer and husband Ryan Greenhall and their kids Nicholas and Raegan, sister Stephanie Jahoda all of Mechanicville, along with his paternal grandmother Wanda Jahoda of Schenectady.
A Memorial celebration of Garrett’s life will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 26th at 7 PM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 N Main St, Mechanicville.
A visitation for family and friends will precede the service from 4-7 PM at the N Main Street Church.
