Obituary for Jane M. Wilson
NISKAYUNA - Miss Jane M. Wilson, 97, of Union St., died Thursday morning, Dec. 13th at Baptist Nursing and Rehab, Scotia, after an extended illness.
Born in Troy, Feb 6th, 1921, daughter of the late William and Catherine MacMurray Wilson. A 15 year old 1936 graduate, who finished 3rd in her class at Mechanicville High School, Jane received her undergraduate degree from University of Albany and her Masters Degree in education from Columbia University. Jane began her over 40 year teaching career at the Hadley NY school system. For many years, Jane taught American history at the Oceanside City School District on Long Island. In the early 2000’s, Jane moved back to the Capital District.
A proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she also was a member of the Fortnightly Club, and was a former member of the Presbyterian/Methodist church.
Jane is survived by a number of cousins and their families.
A graveside cremation service will be held this Sunday, Dec. 16th at 2 PM at Hudson View Cemetery, Mechanicville.
