Obituary for Lorna Cukrovany Hurley (Cukrovany)

MECHANICVILLE - Lorna Cukrovany-Hurley, 62, of No Main St., died Saturday morning at Albany Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, Sept 28, 1956, daughter of the late John and Helena Salisbury Cukrovany, Lorna was a 1974 graduate of Hoosic Valley Central and also years later from HVCC in Troy. A longtime employee of Pricechopper, she had also worked in child care, for the YMCA, Stillwater Community Center and Home Depot.
She loved cooking for family and friends, crafts, gardening, fishing and hunting, and was always keeping herself busy. Grooming her homes and yards gave her a special pride, and Lorna loved talking to any and all about life. She was a fun person to know.
Survivors include her loving husband Peter J. Hurley, whom she married in 2005, her adored son Daniel (Kara) Rafferty of Maplewood, her cherished 2 month old grandson Noah Jayce Rafferty, brother Stanley John Cukrovany of Cambridge, and sisters Judith Ann (Ken) Lockwood of Clifton Park and Susannah J. Cukrovany of Stillwater, along with nieces, nephews, and a whole lot of Peter’s family.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Calling hours at the Funeral Home Tuesday from 5-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Lorna Cukrovany-Hurley.
