Obituary for Shannon M. Carpenter

SCHAGHTICOKE - Shannon Marie Carpenter, 33, died peacefully in her sleep, on September 7, after suffering from an apparent heart attack due to a long history of cardiac problems. Born on July 15, 1985, she was the daughter of her mother Brenda Carpenter Gavigan and stepdaughter of Tim Gavigan of Schaghticoke and her father, the late Robert Hawk.
Shannon most recently worked at TJ Maxx in Saratoga Springs as a sales and fitting room consultant but had also worked at Price Chopper for some time. She had a caring and beautiful heart and often times a dry sense of humor. She enjoyed shopping and also cooking and then eating the home made gourmet meals her and her boyfriend John created.
Survivors in addition to her mother and step father include her siblings Tammy, Zusha, Kayla and Seth Hawk, longtime partner and friend John Martino, grandmother Shirley Carpenter and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father, her brother Bobby Hawk, Jr and just recently her grandfather John “Bob” Carpenter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 12th at 10:30 AM at All Saints on the Hudson (St. Peter's) Church, 895 Hudson Ave., Stillwater. An hour of gathering for family and friends will be held at the Church, prior to the mass, starting at 9:30AM.
