CLIFTON PARK - Meg M. Toombs, 61, died Wednesday evening Aug 22nd at Saratoga Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, Jan 5, 1957, daughter of the late George “Hawk” and Olive Blodgett Toombs, Meg was a 1975 graduate of Mechanicville High School.
She was a data entry manager for NYS Dept. of Health’s Newborn Screening Unit, for 17 years, before a disability retirement.
An honorary member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Meg made a number of crafts for charities, and would assist anyone that needed a helping hand.
She was a former member of Quaker Springs Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Meg was predeceased by her brother Russ Toombs who died last year.
Survivors include her son Daniel David (Tina Daniels) Mitchell and adored newborn grandson David Joseph Mitchell of Schuylerville, sister-in-law Patrice Toombs of Watervliet and her two sons David Toombs, Mark (Christina) Toombs and their daughter Giada, along with nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Calling hours Tuesday from 4-7 PM.
Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Quaker Springs.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a local chapter of Catholic Daughters of America, in memory of Meg M. Toombs.
