Obituary for Anthony Rosario "Pop" Gullotto

STILLWATER - Anthony Rosario “Pop” Gullotto, 88, of Meehan Rd, died peacefully in the comfort of his home on Thursday, Aug. 2nd with his loving daughters at his side. Born in Mechanicville on July 11, 1930, he was the son of the late Rosario and Anna Bullis Gullotto and husband of 56 years to the late Charlotte Renner Gullotto.
Pop served honorably with the US Air Force during the Korean War and received numerous medals and citations including the Presidential Unit Citation and Korean Service Medal.
He was a specialized mechanic for the NY Army National Guard in Latham for over 30 years, working on tanks, airplanes, helicopters and other armored military vehicles. He was a member for the American Legion Post 490, Stillwater and made frequent trips out to breakfast or lunch with his military buddies. An avid baseball and NY Yankee fan, his true passion was following his grandkids, attending most of their academic and athletic accomplishments. He truly was their biggest fan.
Survivors include his two daughters Linda and Beatrice, both of Stillwater, grandchildren Jennifer, Moriah, Anthony and Matthew, great grandchildren Benjamin, Alexander and Cora Leigh and his sister Barbara O’Malley as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Charlotte and siblings George and Roger Gullotto and Beatrice Lunsford.
Calling Hours will be held on Monday, August 6, from 10AM-1230PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville with burial and military honors to follow at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
