MECHANICVILLE - Elizabeth “Betty” Patenaude, 82, of Maple St, died Monday, July 9th in the comfort of her home, with her loving husband and son at her side. Born in Troy, February 26, 1936, daughter of the late Nicholas and Steffie SantaBarbara Martone, she was a 1953 graduate of Mechanicville High School.
Betty worked as an office secretary at the John W. Lynd Insurance Co in Mechanicville for 25 years and later as a cashier for Jack Byrne Ford and Mercury in Mechanicville for 24 years until retiring within the last 10 years.
She enjoyed being with her family and especially loved spending time with her husband George at the racino playing the slots.
Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years George A. Patenaude whom she married on June 28, 1958, her son Nicholas J. Patenaude of Halfmoon and grandchildren Bryan and Meghan Patenaude. Betty and her family will always be grateful to Patricia(Joe) McCann and family, Steve and Liz SantaBarbara for the love shown and friendship and care given to her over the years.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday July 13th at 9 AM at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville, with burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Thursday from 4-7 PM.
