Obituary for Judith A. Mone

MECHANICVILLE - Judith Shields Mone, 76, of No. Sixth Ave, died Saturday, Feb 24th, at Capital Living Ctr, after an extended illness.
Born in Troy, June 23, 1941, daughter of the late John and Elsie Sabatino Shields, Judy was a graduate of Mechanicville High School.
A homemaker all her life, Judy was always proud of making her home, flower gardens and yard pleasing to all. Her life centered around her family, doting over her husband, looking after her children, grandchildren, sharing life’s good times with siblings, neighbors and friends. She loved life to the fullest.
She baked for family, enjoyed bowling, rooting for the Red Sox, and was a fun person who had a quick wit and happy disposition, and could argue with the best of them.
A member of Assumption-St. Paul Church, a former bingo worker and church school teacher, Judy was a wonderful care-giver for her beloved husband “Ganger”, and kept him safely home in his final time on earth.
Sadly, Judy was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Charles “Ganger” Mone, who died in 2007, her grandson Jacob Chase, and brother Jack Shields.
Survivors include her children: Mary Jo and Tom Chase, Richard and Michele Mone and Charles and Claire Mone, grandchildren: Bobby Chase, Brandon, Kyle, Ashley, Nicholas and Tyler Mone. Also her brother Richard (Cookie Patrick) Shields and her best friend, giving comfort and companionship for many years, Rose DeVito.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Mar. 1st at 9 AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 North Main St., Mechanicville. Entombment in St. Paul’s Mausoleum. Calling hours at the North Main St. Church on Wednesday from 4-7 PM.
