Obituary for Margot E. Coyne-Izzo

MECHANICVILLE - Margot E. Coyne-Izzo, 78, of Route 423, died at home, Wed, Feb 21st, after a brief illness.
Born in Castine, Maine, May 7, 1939, daughter of the late John and Margaret Grant Coyne, she grew up in Mechanicville and was a 1957 graduate of Mechanicville High School. She also later attended Russell Sage College.
Margot was a Substance Abuse Counselor for many years at a number of rehab facilities in New England.
She loved everything about the State of Maine, enjoyed swimming and sun bathing at Hampton Beach, N.H., playing casino slots, along with flower/vegetable gardening.
Her greatest joy was looking after her kids and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Anthony “Fiji” Izzo in 2005, and sister Priscilla DeStefano.
Survivors include her son Frank “Paco” (Donna) Izzo of Mechanicville, daughters Debbie (Duane Chevalier) Izzo of Schenectady, Elizabeth (Mars) Izzo-Williams of Chicago and Priscilla Izzo of Mechanicville. Grandchildren: MaryKate, Caitlin, Anthony and Lily Izzo and great granddaughter Chloe Patenaude. Also brothers John R. Coyne, Jr of Chicago and Michael (Chris) Coyne of Syracuse, along with nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday from 2-4 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances made be made to the American Cancer Society, in memory of Margot Coyne-Izzo.
