Obituary for James M. Brady

VALLEY FALLS - James M. Brady, 72, of Tomhannock Rd, died Tuesday February13th at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness. Born in Malone, NY on February 10, 1946, he was the son of the late Francis and Rose Pond Brady and adopted son of the late Patrick and Dorothy Brady.
A graduate of Franklin Academy High School in Malone, NY, James also proudly attended HVCC as an adult, graduating in 1998 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
James joined the US Air Force in 1965, serving actively in Vietnam for 1 year and later being honorably discharged as a Sgt in 1968.
He was a truck driver for Lane Enterprises in Malta and a machine operator for Chris Craft Industries in Waterford.
A member of the American Legion Post 1644 Riverside, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, rides on his motorcycle and was a diehard NY Giant and Yankee fan.
Survived by his loving children, Jennifer(Michael) Brady-Connor of Saratoga Springs, James Brady of Tomhannock and Antoinette(Christopher) Mansfield of Mechanicville, grandchildren Autumn and John Connor and James Brady, siblings Jean(Anthony) French, Leona(Allen) Steen, Joseph, Patrick(Nellie), Douglas(Debra) and Frank(Peggy) Brady, his faithful canine companion Izzy and many nieces and nephews.
James was predeceased by his sister Mary Holden.

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Thursday at 7PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118. Calling hours at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7PM. Military honors and burial at the Saratoga National Cemetery will be held on Friday at 11:30AM. Those wishing to attend are asked to be at the visitor’s center between 11:15 - 11:30AM.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Veterans & Community Housing Coalition, 20 Prospect Street, Bldg 2, Suite 313, Ballston Spa, New York 12020.
