Obituary for Donald E. Price, Sr.

STILLWATER - Donald E. Price, Sr, 77, of Hudson Ave, died unexpectedly Monday morning, Feb 5th, at Saratoga Hospital, of natural causes, after being stricken home.
Born in Troy, Aug 15th, 1940, son of the late Francis and Helen Price, and husband of the late Elizabeth “Ann” Young Price who died 13 years ago.
A guy with a great sense of humor, Don always quipped that the Italian community in Mechanicville celebrated his birthday with fireworks.
Don joined the US Army in 1958 and served a year in South Korea, honorably discharged in 1961 as a Specialist 4th.
For many years, Don worked at the former Grand Union Warehouse in Waterford, and later worked for Stevens and Thompson Paper Co, and lastly for Saratoga Lake Golf Course.
A proud member and past Commander of Earl J. Manning Post 490 American Legion of Stillwater, he enjoyed gardening and cooking, and recently won the chili cook off the Legion held. Don’s sideline effort, “Price’s Portable Pits” business of barbecue and grilling for events was fun for all.
Don loved his family, especially time spent with his granddaughters, siblings and families, and was a “Proud American”.
Survivors include his son Donald E. (Renee) Price, Jr. and daughter Misty Ann Price both of Stillwater, grandchildren Brandee Silloway, Miranda and Mya Price. Also his sister Patricia Catanese of Ct. and Raymond Price, Sr of Mechanicville, along with nieces and nephews and their families.
Don was also predeceased by a brother Francis J. Price.
A Burial Service with military honors will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Saratoga National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Cemetery at 10:45 AM
Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Thursday from 4-7 PM.
