Obituary for Keith A. Luther

FORT EDWARD - Keith A. Luther, 65, of Lamplighter Acres, died peacefully on January 29th at Glens Falls Hospital with his loving family by his side. Keith was the son of the late Edgar and Sylvia Brookley Luther, Jr., and a 1970 graduate of Stillwater High School.

Keith’s passion was music - he was a talented guitarist who found and shared great joy as a performer, a listener, and a writer. To fund his musical dreams, he worked for a lifetime as a butcher, cutting meat for markets and groceries throughout the area until his retirement in 2013. He also spent time as a patrolman, a taxi driver and as a residential staff-member with the Wilton developmental center.

Survivors include his loving children: Kyle (Colleen) Luther of Albany, Krysta Davis of Stillwater and Carly Cooper of Hudson Falls, grandchildren Ennea and Aliera Luther and Mykenzie Davis, siblings David (Karen) Luther of Stillwater, Michele (James) Richards of Ballston Lake, Lisa (Thomas) Riley of Highland Springs, VA, Marc (Sharlene) Luther of Gansevoort, Rebecca (Morris) Patenaude, Jr. of Stillwater, many loving family members, and a wonderful, motley assortment of dear friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10AM-1PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St, Mechanicville. A less formal gathering will follow at Carney’s Tavern in Ballston Lake. The musically inclined are encouraged to bring (acoustic) instruments.
