STILLWATER - Linda Oliver Scarati, 67, of Royal Ct., died in the comfort of her home on January 26, 2018. Born in Troy, March 6, 1950, she was the daughter of the late David and Hazel Whiting Oliver, Sr.
A self employed house cleaner, she had also worked in her youth at the clothing factories of Cohoes for a several years. Although she enjoyed the different jobs that she held, her favorite times were those home tending to her children and grandchildren. She was dedicated to spending time with them and her husband John. She also was an integral part of raising her granddaughter Selena, raising her like her own daughter.
She enjoyed horror movies, board games, puzzles, and just about anything she could do with loved ones by her side, especially family camping trips.
Sadly, she was predeceased by her infant daughter Tonya Quackenbush and sisters Sharon Oliver and Sandra Berthiaune.
Survivors include her loving and faithful husband of 32 years, John A. Scarati, whom she married on July 27, 1985, daughters Jennifer Quackenbush, Johnalyn(Ralph) Peluso, Deanna Scarati, Jessica(Shayne) Aune, Melissa Akyiano and Sarah(Brandon) Kommer, granddaughters Selena Williams, Sicily Akyiano, Madison Brady and 8 other grandchildren as well as a baby grandchild due in June 2018. Also brothers David Jr(Sandra), Gary(Bunny) and Dusty(Renee) Oliver, her best friend Bonnie Ratalsky and sister in law Barbara(Ralph) Valenti as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville with a funeral home service to follow beginning at 7PM. Inurnment at the Saratoga National Cemetery on Thursday, Feb. 1st at 10:30AM. Those wishing to attend are asked to gather at the visitors center beginning at 10:15AM.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Linda in a special way are asked to make contributions to the American Brain Tumor Association in support of her husband's ongoing battle, The American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., Suite 550, Chicago, IL 60631 in her memory.
