MECHANICVILLE - Peggy McGuire, 93, longtime resident of South Main Street, died peacefully at Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Center on Thursday January 11th.
Born in Mechanicville, November 12, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Sandy and Suzie Lavazzo Ciulla.
A Mechanicville High School graduate, Peggy worked many years with the Mechanicville Public School system, as a lunch monitor and finally as a nurses aide until her retirement in 1990.
A lifelong member of the Assumption-St. Paul Parish(All Saints on the Hudson), she enjoyed bowling and gardening and most of all cherished the times she spent with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Frederick McGuire in 2009 and her siblings Richard Cull (Sonny) and Carl Ciulla and Agnes Storey.
Survivors include her three sons Michael McGuire of Clifton Park and Mark(Meg) McGuire and Jeffrey McGuire, both of Mechanicville, grandchildren Laura Lindquist, Sandra Dyer, Jacob, Jesse. Schyler, Austin, Brittany and Madison McGuire, great grandchildren Caleb, Molly, Noah, Julia, Jameson and Ryker as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 16th at 11AM at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 N Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118 with burial to follow in St. Paul's Cemetery. Calling hours will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Peggy in a special way are asked to make contributions to a charity of ones choice in her memory.
