Obituary for Walter J. Ardziewicz

MECHANICVILLE - Walter J. Ardziewicz, 64, of West St., a popular area amateur photographer, died suddenly at home early Tuesday morning, Jan 9th of natural causes.
Born in Cohoes, Feb 16, 1953, son of the late Walter and Stacia Ardziewicz, Walt graduated from Mechanicville High School and Hudson Valley CC.
He worked at the NYS Office of General Services for 38 years, lastly as a fire safety inspector, retiring several years ago.
A photography bug, Walt first started taking pictures by the time he was 5 years old.
He had taken a slew of interesting photos over the years, always clicking his camera, at all area events and celebrations. He was a staff photographer for THE EXPRESS newspaper, and his photos were also used by several media outlets.
In the past year, Walt was honored at the Stillwater Family Day by the Town of Stillwater for his helpful volunteer photo work.
A member of Riverside (Arvin Hart) FD and American Legion Post 1644, Riverside, the Mechanicville-Stillwater Senior Citizens. Walt enjoyed golfing, going to Saratoga Race Track, was a history buff. He was a faithful member of All Saints on the Hudson Roman Catholic Church.
Having touched many lives, people will miss seeing Walt waltzing around local events taking photos.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years June Kuscsik Ardziewicz, their son Juan Jose Ardziewicz (Patricia Lasher) of Cohoes, brother Donald of Stillwater and sister Ann Mone of Latham along with her son David Mone, Jr., In-laws Darlene and Ernie Martin, Terry and Joseph Kuscsik and Virginia Wood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, (St. Peter’s) 895 Hudson Ave., Stillwater.
Visitation at the Hudson Ave. Church on Saturday from 9:30 till 11 AM.
Burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Waterford.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Heart or Cancer Assocs.
